Cleanse Day Eight: You Don't Know What You Got 'Til It's Gone
Today started off pretty rocky, but ended on a major high note.
I'm going to admit right here that I felt like crap 70% of today. The raging headache I had on the first few days of my cleanse was back with a vengeance, making for an extremely grumpy Mely.
The first shake I drank this morning was more enjoyable than most of the sex I've ever had.
This could be because most of my lovers have just been THAT BAD, or that the shake just tasted THAT GOOD after two days without food.
I think it's a little bit of both.
Go ahead, feel sorry for me.
Even the chocolate shake I had for lunch was semi-orgasmic and I'm not a fan of the chocolate AT ALL.
While the shakes may have tasted like a little piece of heaven, my stomach was giving me hell over them.
TMI ALERT for any man that wants to continue fantasizing about having sex with me... step aaaaawwwwway from the blog post for a minute.
Each time I finished a shake today I had to run back and forth to the bathroom afterwards two or three times before my stomach settled down.
Ok fellas, you can come back now.
I'm sure the day long headache and stomachache were because my body was readjusting to having anything of real substance in it again after the 2 Day Deep Cleanse.
No worries though. By 6pm all was well and I was feeling like myself again.
And here's the happy dance part... DINNER WAS AMAZEBALLS.
I had planned to grab sushi tonight, but then I cheaped out and chose to make dinner for myself at home. Turned out to be the best decision I could've made.
Pictured above is what I had: Grilled Chicken, Avocado, and Cilantro Lime Brown Rice with Sauteed Bell Peppers & Onions.
I don't think I have ever enjoyed a meal so much in my life. For being pretty plain and simple, everything was bursting with flavor.
I think I took more time to enjoy everything I ingested today. I appreciated it and was so much more grateful for it after discovering what it was like to not eat for two days.
Guess it's true when they say "you don't know what you got 'til it's gone."
I don't think I'll ever take food for granted again.
